THE PIECE

The Marettimo necklace is a long one-of-a-kind piece with a clear, sculptural presence. Ten strands of onyx and red branch coral create a strong line that feels both composed and distinctive. Marble cone shell and a coral cabochon introduce a lighter, organic counterpoint. The result is not a playful summer piece, but a necklace with depth, contrast and character. At 72 cm, the Marettimo necklace sits with presence while still feeling refined. It frames the neckline, lengthens the silhouette and brings colour into a look in a deliberate way.

DESIGN & SILHOUETTE

Its strength comes from material contrast. The depth of black onyx gives the piece calm and density. The red branch coral interrupts that calm and adds warmth, movement and texture. Then the marble cone shell introduces another surface altogether, with its natural pattern and lighter tone. The small coral cabochon ties the colour story together with precision. Because the necklace is built from ten strands, it has visible volume, yet it does not read as stiff. Instead, it falls in a fluid, collected way. Three micro-details define it in particular: the branching structure of the coral, the pale pattern of the shell, and the sharp dialogue between black and red elements. That is what gives the piece its singular identity.

ARTIST’S NOTE

With the Marettimo necklace, I wanted tension without harshness: onyx brings depth, branch coral brings energy, and the shell creates a natural counterpoint. Presence comes through contrast here, not through volume.

STYLING INSPIRATION

The Marettimo necklace is especially strong with black, cream, white or warm sand tones. Smooth fabrics let the contrast of the materials read clearly. At the same time, it also works well with linen or fine knitwear because the necklace already carries structure and colour on its own. For a quieter look, pair it with simple silhouettes. For more tension, place it against dark tones and clean lines.

ATELIER CRAFTSMANSHIP

Each piece is handcrafted in Italy. For the Marettimo necklace, onyx, coral, shell and cabochon are combined so that contrast, balance and drape feel resolved. A ten-strand construction requires precision, so the necklace keeps its density while still sitting cleanly. The gold-plated sterling silver clasp is integrated with the same care. On request, the design is also available in yellow or white gold, and preferences can be noted during checkout.
